Acceptable Use Policy
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. Most of it is ordinary. Clause 1 is not, and it is the reason this page exists.
1What a reading may not be used for
You must not use anything this service produces as a quality claim about any brand or product, as evidence in a return or complaint, or as a public statement of fact.
Specifically, you must not:
- present a reading as a finding about how a named brand, manufacturer or retailer makes its products;
- submit a reading, or an image produced from one, in support of a return, a refund request, a warranty claim, a chargeback, a complaint to a retailer, or a report to a regulator or trading standards body;
- publish a reading as a statement of fact about a particular product, including in a review, a marketplace listing, a comparison, a social post or an advertisement;
- state or imply that this service has tested, inspected, certified, approved, endorsed or rated any product, material or manufacturer;
- remove, crop out or obscure the qualifications printed on an image produced by this service, including the statement that a construction could not be established;
- remove or defeat the masking of brand names in anything this service produces.
The reason is set out on the AI Notice page. This service reads the appearance of a few millimetres of an edge in a photograph. That is a sound basis for deciding what to do with your own shoes and an unsound basis for an accusation against the person who made them.
2Uses that are prohibited outright
You must not use this service for medical purposes, nor in connection with legal, financial, insurance, safety-critical, employment, credit, housing or judicial decision-making.
This includes any attempt to obtain, from this service, anything to do with feet: fit, rubbing, comfort, arch, foot shape, gait, walking style inferred from sole wear, or any foot health or orthopaedic matter. The service does not produce those things, will not attempt to, and declines the question rather than answering it partially.
3What you may upload
Photographs of footwear that you have the right to photograph and to share with us. That is the whole of it.
You must not upload:
- photographs of people, of any part of a person, or of a foot, whether bare or shod, whether yours or anyone else's;
- photographs of anyone's face, or any image from which a living individual can be identified;
- images you do not have the right to use, or that infringe anyone's intellectual property;
- unlawful, abusive or sexual material, or material that depicts a child;
- personal data about anyone other than yourself;
- anything containing malicious code.
If an image containing an identifiable person reaches the service, it is rejected and deleted rather than processed.
4Fair use of the service
- One account per person. Accounts may not be shared, resold, rented or transferred.
- Do not automate access, scrape the service, or resell readings as your own service without a written agreement with us.
- Do not attempt to bypass allowances, plan limits, watermarks or the guardrails described in clause 2.
- Do not probe, load-test, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or to other users' data.
- Do not use the service to build a competing dataset of footwear construction.
5Enforcement
Where we believe this policy has been broken we may remove the material, restrict a feature, suspend the account, or close it. We tell you what we are doing and why, and unless the breach makes it inappropriate we give you the chance to put it right first. If we close a paid account for a reason that is not your breach, we refund the unused part of the period.
If you think we have acted wrongly, write to support@kikiyok.shop. A person will review it, not an automated process.
6Reporting
To report misuse of this service, including a reading being published as a claim about a brand, email support@kikiyok.shop with a link or a copy. We acknowledge within one working day.
